This spring, PHEMS invites you to a new series of Meet-Ups focused on the latest breakthroughs in pediatric health data. Join us as we continue to bridge borders, spark innovation, and drive better health outcomes for children and young people. Connect with your colleagues and stay up to date on the latest advances in paediatric data science.
Upcoming Sessions
April 28th, 15.00-15.50 CET
Early prediction of paeditaric sepsis in the PICU via an EHR-based machine learning model
Sepsis is a life-threatening disease impacting children and young people around the world, especially those in hospital. Predicting which patients in the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) will develop sepsis remains a challenge. In this Meet-Up we will share how researchers, led by SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital, are using federated analytics and machine learning to develop and validate an algorithm to predict sepsis onset in patients admitted to the PICU. Join us to learn about this and other applications of the Paediatric Health Data Space (PHDS).
Speakers:
- Aida Felipe, Sr. PICU Consultant
- Adrián Vizoso, Data Scientist at Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, Sr. PICU Consultant
Target audience:Clinicians, managers, policy makers, researchers, data controllers, and innovators.
May 19th, 15.00-15.50 CET
Moving the PHDS to long-term sustainability: Lessons of the PHEMS Business Hackathon
PHEMS is building a Paediatric Health Data Space (PHDS) to accelerate research, increase health system efficiency, and improve health outcomes. The PHEMS Business Hackathon brought together over 50 different participants representing clinicians, hospital managers, industry and innovation ecosystems to co-create a sustainable service models for the PHDS. Join us to hear the results from this unique even, learn about the PHDS, and gain insights into ways to make your Horizon Project sustainable beyond the funding period.
Speaker:
- Josep Lluís Falcó, CEO at GENESIS Biomed
Target audience: Pharma, MedTech, SMEs, researchers, funders, managers, policy makers, data controllers, and innovators.
June 16th, 15.00-15.50 CET
Lauch of the PHEMS Playbook: A map to success for the Paediatric Health Data Space
The PHEMS Playbook outlines the purpose and the steps for participating in the Paediatric Health Data Space. It includes actionable guidance to PHDS participants including examples of value-adding use cases, high-level technical architecture, and the governance model of PHDS. This Meet-Up will provide an overview of the Playbook and how it can be leveraged to work with the PHDS and how it can serve as inspiration for the design of other federated health data spaces.
Speakers:
- Pekka Kahri, PHEMS Project Coordinator from HUS Helsingin yliopistollinen sairaala
Target audience: Hospital administrators, data controllers, Pharma, MedTech, SMEs, researchers, funders, policy makers, and innovators.
